Maureen Testa is a native New Yorker, born in the Bronx. Most of her life was spent in Manhattan where she lives and worked as a Diagnostic Radiologist, until retirement in 2001.
Maureen's interest in photography developed as a creative outlet and was strengthened by study at ICP, The Maine Photographic Workshop and The New School. Because of her background in Radiology, black and white photography was a natural choice as a medium for self-expression. She has used the traditional darkroom to print her silver gelatin photographs.
Maureen is fortunate to be a member of the Camera Club of New York where darkrooms are available. Recently, she has made the transition into digital and color photography.
Her work has been exhibited at Umbrella Arts, The James Beard House, The East End Council for the Arts and The Riverhead Library, where she received an award in architectural photography.
